Department of TB and Chest Diseases

The department of Respiratory Medicine (TB and Chest)

As of date, the department has 3 faculty members and  has ongoing M.D. (Respiratory medicine)  program and currently there are 5 positions for M.D. students in the department.

Department has total  56 beds in the ward. Care is offered to patients suffering from various respiratory ailments like COPD, Asthma, pneumonia, Tuberculosis, ILD and many more

It offers a wide  range of diagnostic and therapeutic interventions like pulmonary function testing, thoracocentesis, intercostal drainageand is equipped with advanced  Flexible video bronchoscope with procedures like BAL , bronchial brushing and TBNA being routinely performed.

The department is a Nodal DRTB centre with offering complete diagnostic and therapeutic services for DRTB with a seprate designated DOTS- plus ward for DRTB patients.The department has also been linked to CoE KGMU as a Mini Hub for ECHO sessions under NTEP.

Department has an upcoming 6 beded ICU being constructed under Smart TB centre.
